Shivaratri is celebrated by offerings Bael Leaves, Dhatura, fruits and his favorite Bhang, with whole day fasting and night-jagaran or jagrata. “Om Namah Shivaya” is the main mantra which is related to Lord Shiva.

Maha Shivaratri is the festival of India or Hinduism but it is also famous in Nepal, SriLanka and in indo-Caribbean communities like west Indies, Thousands of Hindus spend the auspicious night in over 400 temples across the country, offering special jhalls to lord Shiva.
