The States Reorganisation Act, 1956 is an Act to provide for the reorganisation of the States of India and for matters connected therewith. The Act reorganised the states and union territories from an existing State to another existing State or to a new State. November 1, 1956 is not only a State Formation Day for Karnataka but also to other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Bombay (Now Maharashtra and Gujarat), Madras (Now Tamil Nadu), Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir.

Kannada Rajyotsava 2018 ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ

ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ, ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಮೊದಲನೇ ಅಥವಾ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನುವ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರುವತ್ತ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ತಾರ್ಕಿಕ ಅಂತ್ಯದತ್ತ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ತನ್ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಮಿನ್ನೇಸೋಟ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು, ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯ, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ನಾಮಫಲಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮನವಿ ಪತ್ರ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

Karnataka, originally called Mysore, was formed in 1956. It is famous as the land that gave the world Bisi Bele Bath, Masala Dosa and Rava Idli, along with having one of the most productive film industries of the year ‘ making over 100 movies ‘ and a proud legacy of literature and music. First called Mysore, the state changed its name to Karnataka in 1973. Old scriptures suggest that this is derived from Karnata, which is what the area was originally referred to as. Other suggestions say it is derived from Karu-nadu, which translates to elevated land.
It is the only state that boasts a rich tradition of both Carnatic and Hindustani music. While the state was home to Purandaradasa, one of the main pillars of Carnatic classic music, Northern Karnataka has been home to Hindustani classical stalwarts such as Sawai Gandharva, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Gangubai Hangal and Mallikarjun Mansur.
Karnataka has the second highest number of Jnanapith Award winners for literature, tallying up to eight, second only to 10 for Hindi.

Karnataka’s state bird is the Indian Roller, a species of bird common to this area in Asia, which is colourful and non-migratory. In fact, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana too have chosen the bird as their state bird.
India’s national flower, lotus, is the state flower as well.
The state animal is the Asian elephant and Karnataka boasts an elephant camp in the foothills of the Kodagu district in Dubare.
The colourful dramatic Yakshagana is the official state dance form.
Karnataka’s official language is Kannada, but the state also has many other languages and dialects, including Tulu, Konkani, Havyaka, Kodava and Beary. There are separate Kannada-mixed Tamil and Telugu dialects as well.
