Kannada Karnataka Rajyotsava – Karnataka Formation Day ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ
November 1, 2018, is the 63rd Rajyotsava day. We celebrate this day with patriotic fervour. At the special assembly, Our Principal,lit the lamp and addressed the students highlighting the richness of the Kannada language and the importance of speaking the language. The celebration took our thoughts to our culture and roots creating a sense of belonging to the state we are part of that is also important for an individual’s growth. The group songs in Kannada only and dance performances by our children formed part of the celebrations.
The vigilance awareness week programme was also conducted and the children pledged to be honest and sincere in word and action.
The late thespian Dr Rajkumar is the only superstar to have won the National Award for Best Playback Singer ‘ for Naadamaya Ee Lokavella from Just Akasmika. Coincidentally, he never won a National Award for acting, despite winning nine State Awards for the Best Actor.
Mani Ratnam’s first ever feature film was in Kannada, titled Pallavi Anupallavi. Coincidentally, it was also one of the first films that Anil Kapoor acted in as a lead.
Musical maestro Ilaiyaraaja began his career in films as an assistant to noted music director GK Venkatesh.
Many national superstars, including Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone, began their film journey with Kannada films.
Shankar Nag’s Ondu Muttina Kathe holds the distinction of being the first-ever Indian film to have been majorly shot underwater.
